Ezekiel French settled in what is now South
Colton (formerly Three Falls), locating in the Cold Brook section. |
| 1837 |
The first sawmill was built in South Colton
by Edward Crary of Pierrepont, on the village site purchased by
Christopher Ripley.
Hiram Leonard settled in Colton from Pierrepont.
The first Post Office was established in Colton June 17 with William
Stark as Postmaster.
Edson Crary of Pierrepont built the first South Colton Sawmill. |
