The Summer Recreation Program became a
cooperative effort of the Colton-Pierrepont Central School and the Town of
Colton.
Diamond National Corporation dedicated its Tree Farm Program on "The
Plains" above South Colton. |

Miss Gertrude Kraft was honored for 50 years
of service to Hepburn Library, Colton. |
| 1965 |
Sunday Rock was moved to allow for widening
Route #56. Land was given to the Town by Hilda Swift for a suitable and
lasting site. |
| 1967 |
Work was begun on the proposed State Campsite
at Campbell's Point with the closing of the sand road along the river,
known as Campbell's Point Road.
Sno Skippers Inc. formed. |
| 1968 |
Town of Colton Employees organized into Local
#687, International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Later in the year they
became members of the New York State Retirement System. |
