Where to Hunt
Colton's blessed with thousands of acres of excellent hunting; but remember that whether private lands or public, there are laws and rules that apply.  Be sure you understand them before heading out into the field and, when hunting on private land, be sure to have the owner's permission and that they know where you'll be hunting.  Licenses and brochures are available at the Town Clerk's office, Main St., Colton.  Here is a link to the NYS DEC Hunting Seasons .pdf summary that you can print and carry with you in the field.

Public Lands:
Adirondack State Park:  Some initial information is available at  http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/hunting.html  and at http://visitadirondacks.com/recreation/hunting
Higley Flow State Park: Deer Hunting, in season, is permitted on the lands south of Cold Brook Drive.
