RAQUETTE RIVER BLUEWAY TRAIL

DRAFT VOLUNTARY STEWARDSHIP PLAN

The final steps in the process that started in 2011 to draft a Voluntary Stewardship Plan for the Raquette River Blueway Trail (RRBT) take place during December 2016.  Fred Hanss, as the RRBT coordinator, has scheduled three public information meetings -- Dec. 5 at 5pm in Potsdam; Dec. 6 at 5:30pm in Tupper Lake; and Dec. 7 at 5:30pm in Massena.  The 30-page document includes the news release announcing the three sessions along with the Draft Voluntary Stewardship Plan which focuses on six priority stewardship issues:  invasive species; water quality; signage & warnings; trails & facilities; stewardship ethic; and education & outreach.

You'll note in the announcement that written comments also can be submitted to Fred Hanss until 4pm on Dec. 20.

Starting Monday, Dec. 5 a copy of the document will be available in the Colton Town Hall for interested people to review before the meetings or the Dec. 20 deadline.
